FAQ

Is Ecuador Safe for LGBT+ travelers?+
Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands are one of the most LGBT+ friendly countries in South America. We prioritize inclusivity and safety, and we are known for being welcoming to LGBTQ+ travelers.
What Can I Expect from an LGBT+ Friendly Galapagos Cruise?+
A Galapagos cruise is all about exploration, nature, and wildlife rather than onboard entertainment. The true highlight of the journey is discovering the islands' extraordinary landscapes and unique endemic species through guided excursions, hiking, snorkeling, and wildlife encounters. Each day brings a new island to explore, with breathtaking scenery, unforgettable sunsets, and incredible opportunities to connect with nature.
Is travel insurance required?+
Travel insurance is not required, but it is highly recommended. It helps protect you in case of unexpected cancellations, delays, medical emergencies, or other unforeseen circumstances.
What entrance fees do I need to pay?+
There are two mandatory fees for all visitors traveling to the Galapagos Islands:

1. Transit Control Card (TCT) - USD 20 per person
The Transit Control Card (TCT) is required for every visitor entering the Galapagos. It is issued by the Galapagos Government and helps regulate visitor entry to protect the islands' fragile ecosystem. The fee is USD 20 per person. You can complete the pre-registration online before your trip and pay by credit or debit card, or obtain and pay for the TCT at the Galapagos Government counter at Quito or Guayaquil Airport before your flight. Payments are made in US Dollars (USD).

2. Galapagos National Park Entrance Fee – USD 200 per person
Upon arrival at San Cristobal Airport, all visitors must pay the Galapagos National Park entrance fee directly at your arrival. For visitors, the fee is USD 200 per person. This fee is paid upon arrival in the Galapagos and must be paid in US Dollars (USD). We recommend bringing cash in small denominations to make the payment process as smooth as possible.
Are flights to the Galapagos Islands included?+
No. Flights between mainland Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands are not included in the itinerary.

All the flights depart from Quito (UIO) or Guayaquil (GYE) and arrive at San Cristobal (SCY). We are happy to arrange these flights for you to ensure they match the embarkation and disembarkation schedule.

If you prefer to book your own flights, please note that a penalty fee will apply. For this reason, we strongly recommend allowing us to arrange your Galapagos flight.

Is there a code of conduct for respectful participation?+
Yes. We ask all guests to respect one another, embrace the diversity of the group, and help create a friendly and inclusive atmosphere. Our goal is for everyone to enjoy the experience while treating fellow travelers, the crew, local communities, and the natural environment with kindness and respect.
